Andreas Pilger, Violin

His violin studies began at the Conservatorium at Cologne with Prof. H. Thoene, and were continued at the Musikhochschule Köln with the principal violinist of the Gürzenich Orchestra, Mikulas Jelinek. He also undertook masterclasses with Marie Leonhard and Monica Hugget. Since 1986 he has worked with several well-known orchestras and ensembles such as Concerto Köln, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, Musica Fiata Köln, La Banda, Armonico Tributo Austria. His participation in musical life has resulted in numerous radio- and CD-productions. He is, as a soloist and chamber musician, a welcome guest in many festivals across Europe, among them Styriarte, Rheingau Festival, the International Week in Krieglach , the Early Music Festival Utrecht, and the Internationale Kammermusikreihe in the Musikverein, Vienna.
