Peter Stelzl, Posaune

Peter Stelzl was born 1972 in Mainz and studied the modern trombone with Prof. W. Schrietter at the Music Colleges in Saarbrücken and Karlsruhe.
After completing his studies with distinction, he turned to the historical trombone (sackbut) and completed a postgraduate study with Charles Toet at the Music College in Tossingen and at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel.
Peter Stelzl plays throughout Europe as a specialist for sackbut in many different early music formations. These include the “Freiburger Barockorchester”, “Concerto Köln”, “Collegium Cartusianum”, “Capella Coloniensis”, “Musica Fiata” and “Concerto Palatino”, as well as other renowned ensembles. This has resulted in numerous CD and radio productions, as well as the participation in national and international festivals.
Apart from his activities in the concert world, Peter Stelzl works as a teacher at the Music School in Donaueschingen and as a conductor for the “Stadtkapelle Donaueschingen”. In September 2002 he was a teacher at the International Early Music Week at the Music College in Trossingen.
