The ensemble performs with life and breath, each musician understands not only the importance of their own parts but also of the whole. Thus there emerges an absolute and wonderful emotional interpretation, free from anything unnecessary, technically so light-footed that it opens the direct way to understanding the compositions for the audience. How convincing a mutually worked out musical understanding sounds is made here impressively clear.

the musicians played in various formations with a clarity and simplicity, yet so pure and intense, which is only possible for musicians who have excellent control over their instruments.

On Sunday Capella Caesarea sent its audience on a journey in time during their concert in the protestant church in Haardt. Not only the instruments were witness to the past, also the performance practice was from baroque north Italy.

PFULLINGEN. History flows continuously (and therefore without any real breaks), and also in music history nothing comes suddenly. However, it is with some justification that the years around 1600 are described as some of the most important in the development of western music. And it is this "stile moderno", a new creation of that era, to which the Capella Caesarea dedicated their evening as part of the concert series in the Klosterkirche Pfullingen. An unusually rich musical evening, it must be said.
